Hilda of Austin died October 10, 2016, one day before her 97th birthday. She loved to travel, dance, solve puzzle books, and play bingo and an occasional "one arm bandit." She also loved her precious poodle, Tina Mae, who passed away October 5, 2016.

Hilda was born October 11, 1919 to Bill and Susie Naumann in San Antonio, Texas. Due to complications from Hilda's birth, her mother Susie did not see the lady that she became. Susie lived long enough to ask if the child was a boy or a girl. When her mother heard girl, her last request was that her daughter be named Hilda Mae. A month after Susie's death, her father brought Hilda and brother, Fred to their grandmother, Laura Naumann's home in Spicewood, TX. Laura raised them both until they were adults.

Hilda married August 10, 1940, the love of her life, Ciscero "Scoot" Pearson. They became Christians; were baptized in the Colorado River and were previous members of Bee Caves and Rosedale Baptist Churches. Central Austin was their home for 60 years.

Hilda's employment was in the accounting department at the Department of Public Safety for 12 years, and Travis County Tax Department for 18 years. She retired in 1983.

Cousins, nieces and nephews survive Hilda. She and Mr. Pearson, through the years, were extremely kind and generous to their family.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Brookdale for their love and compassion of our Aunt Mae.

Visitation will be October 14, 2016 at twelve o'clock with services to follow at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard. Interment will be at Austin Memorial Park.
