Charlene Stevenson Strawn died at age 89, May 15, 2017 in Austin, Texas. Born in Dallas she went to the University of Texas, married Robert Kirk Strawn, and graduated with High Honors from the University of Florida, where she also received a Master of Arts in Speech Therapy.

She had a private kindergarten, taught four year olds at St Thomas school in College Station, and taught in the English Language Institute at Texas A&M University. She loved teaching and helping people and later enjoyed a 20 year body work practice of Trager Psychophysical Integration....

She had a private kindergarten, taught four year olds at St Thomas school in College Station, and taught in the English Language Institute at Texas A&M University. She loved teaching and helping people and later enjoyed a 20 year body work practice of Trager Psychophysical Integration. She taught in other areas such as Parent and Leadership Effectiveness Training.

Charlene and her husband, Kirk, had 62 years together before his death. She loved gardening with Kirk. After Kirk's retirement as a professor at Texas A & M, he began hybridizing water lilies and Charlene was a part of these activities.

She is survived by three sons, Terry Strawn of Austin, Steven Strawn and his wife Laura of Austin, and Robert Strawn and his wife Gari of College Station. She has seven grandchildren.

Celebration of Life for Charlene Strawn will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 4:00 pm with a reception to follow at Unity of the Hills, 9905 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX 78750 (512) 335-4449.
